Events: Why you need a wedding planner to help you navigate this pandemic

If you are getting married or planned on getting married in 2020 and 2021 but you don't have a planner then you really need to have a rethink. Right now, whether you’re planning a wedding at home or abroad, there are so many moving parts surrounding COVID-19 that you'll be wondering what to do and how to navigate it all. It is is very important to book a planner so they can help you navigate this crazy industry and offer up options.

The truth is that the coronavirus has disrupted the Event industry, there is so much uncertainty and everything is all up in the air. My first recommendation is to postpone not cancel, its okay to be angry, sad or even cry but its important to know that its not a matter of if its a matter of when, Your day will come and when it does it will be the most amazing thing. When we can all come together and celebrate, there will be nothing else like it.

Below are some key reason why you need a planner to help navigate this period:

Emotions

Your emotions are all over the place, you don't know if you want to cry that your big day has been pushed forward to be relieved that you now have more time to plan, or cry that you don't know when this will be over. This is where a planner comes in, you'll need someone that can at the whole picture from a realistic point of view not emotional to help with making the right decisions. So all you have to do is breathe and find a calm centre.

Industry Leverage

All vendors are trying to find a balance between doing what they think is best for the clients and what is sustainable for their business, vendors are trying to be as accommodating as much as they can be to clients right because they understand that implication of cancellation will be more devastating, so they are offering discount and a lot of flexibility. If these vendors know these request is coming from an event planner they will be willing to stretch even further because of the relationship that must have been built and the probability of benefiting more business from the planner in the future because the event industry is based mostly on relationships. But keep in mind that these vendors will also walk within the line of reasonability because they will also want to sustain their businesses so your planner will not bully your vendors. You will need someone with leverage in the industry to be your advocate. When push comes to shove, if you’re forced to navigate hard circumstances, a well-connected advocate will be able to get you further than you can ever get on your own.

Experience

While it’s true that no event planner operating today has ever seen a pandemic of this scope and size in their lifetime, it’s also true that the type of work we’re doing now is not new to us. Wedding planners are used to troubleshooting and adjusting plans based on current circumstances. It's what we are trained for, prepared for and have done through the entire course of our career. You will need to change all of your plans in the days and weeks before your wedding because of this pandemic hence you will need professional assistance in doing so.

Financial budget development, forecasting, and management

Creating a budget is one of the most important parts of wedding planning during a worldwide crisis, and you’ll feel even more unsettled about your lack of insight or control over what you’ll need to spend if you don't have an event planner. It’s never advisable to make a significant financial investment without a clear understanding of the path and commitments ahead of you. As a wedding planner responsibility to help our clients be good stewards of their resources very seriously.

Hiring a wedding planner is arguably the most important step in event planning, a lot of people think this a luxury but this is not true, having a planner will make all moving parts of the wedding will run smoothly without you having to worry about anything, your planner is basically your problem solver.

When your wedding day finally comes around, you'll feel great knowing that your planner is taking command of the venue and vendors, coordinating logistics, and ensuring that everything runs smoothly. If any issues arise during the ceremony or reception, she'll be the first one on the scene and you won't need to worry about anything except enjoying your special day with loved ones.

Concealer: Before or After Foundation?

Prior to my enrollment in makeup school, I always knew concealer should be applied after foundation but when my instructor was creating the first look, she said concealer should go first and I was startled like 'what is she saying, this is just wrong'. This was going on in my head anyways (I didn't say it out but had my poker face on), even though I felt she was doing the wrong thing. Next day I got to school early and a couple of other trainees that were around, so I randomly asked; "should concealer be applied before or after foundation and they both said it should be before foundation with so much confidence". Well... I wasn't going to back down because I still didn't agree with the rationale behind their position but I don't enjoy arguing, so I just let it pass and more so, I wasn't about to make concealer an issue. Moving on,  I was working on my models and I decided to try out both methods, "before and after foundation" and I realis

I'm currently attending the House of Tara makeup school ( that's why I have not had time to post), when we were given our starter kit the eye shadow primer was sold out then  and I needed one so I went in search of one that was affordable, I went to Ikeja City Mall to see which one I can get and I saw this beauty I had not seen any previous reviews on this product so I didn't even know what it could do, I bought it because of the packaging. This primer comes in three shades; white, nude and black. I picked the white at first then I saw the nude and decided to go with the nude, this primer is easy to handle when applying it unto your lid, it glides on smoothly so you and blend into the skin with your finger  According to the L.A. Style Hacks

Hey guys, It's important to looks great at all times be it summer, winter , harmattan, party, school or cookouts and there's no room for mishaps but then mishaps still also happen. I remember a while back in secondary school, the school was repainting the building and I, in my usual playful self brushed the wall and got paint on what I was wearing and this was a period school just resumed so everyone is looking peng  you just can't afford to look scruffy and not on point and this was first week of school everyone was wearing their best and this made me feel a little sad because I couldn't figure out how to get the stain off  so when I saw that bloggers were sharing Betabrand's style hacks graphic, I remembered my paint mishap   and how I couldn't figure out a way to get rid of it until much later, I was more than happy to write about style hacks. Betabrand is an amazing online store based in San Francisco, they let the fans co-design and crowdfund and they
