LUXEBOX UNBOXING

I first heard of Luxebox from ycfonlinedirectory.blogspot.com and I decided to check out the website luxebox.info.com . I was so happy to find out that we now have our own subscription box in Nigeria. I love seeing the unboxing reviews from bloggers abroad and I used to wonder when it will come to Nigeria, so you can imagine the excitement. Immediately, I subscribed but the box wasn't available at that moment, hence I waited for the next one which was in October. I will give a brief run down of what Luxebox is.

Luxebox is a beauty subscription service that allows beauty lovers  the chance to try out new products every month for only #3,500The service is currently available in Lagos only (for now). LuxeBox  contains 4-5 full sized beauty or fashion products from known brands that we love. Boxes have been fashionably packaged and contents may be themed, for example an 'all eyes on me', for a Luxebox containing eye make-up products. This is a great way to stock up on your beauty supplies, discover new products and change up your style.

The theme for the month of October was 'all things matte and beautiful' . I love anything matte.  Receiving my box was a struggle and I almost lost interest (didn't want it again). I received a mail from Luxebox on the 15th October that my box would be delivered between Thursdays and Friday and come these days, there was nothing. No calls or any form of correspondence to explain why the box didn't arrive. I decided to send them a mail on Saturday, 18th October and I got a response that they had transportation issues, which I was too furious to respond to.

One week later, on Saturday, 25th October, I received a phone call that it would be delivered next Saturday. The day passed and still nothing. At this stage, I was very pissed and I signed off (sigh...like I didn't want it again). On Wednesday I received a phone call very early in the morning that my box would be delivered that day.

In conclusion my box was delivered on the Wednesday 29th October, two weeks after the initial and expected delivery date.

So enough of my story, this is what the box looks like:

It looked kinda rough when I got it, but that is probably because they have packaged it for a while aside from that the packaging is cute.

I received the Bourjois so Laque Bleu Model 44, New York Colour - Sky Rise Lengthening Mascara, Maybelline MNY my shadow 321 and Wet 'n' Wild- Mega last lip colour 905D Smokin Hot Pink

All these products combined is worth more than #3,500 (Naira), so getting the Luxebox is a very good bargain. Even though my first experience before getting my box was not a good one, I will still order for the next box when it is available.

If you are interested, check www.luxebox.info and you will get all the information you need there.

Events: Why you need a wedding planner to help you navigate this pandemic

If you are getting married or planned on getting married in 2020 and 2021 but you don't have a planner then you really need to have a rethink. Right now, whether you’re planning a wedding at home or abroad, there are so many moving parts surrounding COVID-19 that you'll be wondering what to do and how to navigate it all. It is is very important to book a planner so they can help you navigate this crazy industry and offer up options. The truth is that the coronavirus has disrupted the Event industry, there is so much uncertainty and everything is all up in the air. My first recommendation is to postpone not cancel, its okay to be angry, sad or even cry but its important to know that its not a matter of if its a matter of when , Your day will come and when it does it will be the most amazing thing. When we can all come together and celebrate, there will be nothing else like it. Below are some key reason why you need a planner to help navigate this period: Emotions ...

Concealer: Before or After Foundation?

Prior to my enrollment in makeup school, I always knew concealer should be applied after foundation but when my instructor was creating the first look, she said concealer should go first and I was startled like 'what is she saying, this is just wrong'. This was going on in my head anyways (I didn't say it out but had my poker face on), even though I felt she was doing the wrong thing. Next day I got to school early and a couple of other trainees that were around, so I randomly asked; "should concealer be applied before or after foundation and they both said it should be before foundation with so much confidence". Well... I wasn't going to back down because I still didn't agree with the rationale behind their position but I don't enjoy arguing, so I just let it pass and more so, I wasn't about to make concealer an issue. Moving on,  I was working on my models and I decided to try out both methods, "before and after foundation" and I realis...

PRODUCT REVIEW: SLEEK FLASH 'A' POUT LIPSTAIN IN FORBIDDEN

After a very tiring day in makeup school I was getting ready to go home and I heard one of my friends ask one of the sales rep that come to advertise their different makeup brands  for lipstick and the sales rep said she had sleek and  I was like sleek, REALLY!!! (didn’t expect it to be good) and she then added that it’s matte and it’s very good and then my instructor whose judgement I trust consigned and said they have re-branded. Then I said bring OK lets see and as luck would have it she brought this bad boy  I mean that was the first shade she brought out was forbidden which is a dark red the shade after my own heart at that stage I knew I was going to get it even without trying it. I opened it and saw how thick it was so because I had not paid for it yet I applied to the hand of my hand( we makeup artist are kind of used to that) and applied it to my lips with a lip brush a little of this goes a long way and it dried even before I finished applying it, it’s...
